Since the 15th century the principal seat of the Fleming and Le Fleming family of Cumberland and Westmorland was Rydal Hall, in the English Lake District. Many members of the family make their way to the Hall in search of their roots or to find what traces they can of their ancestors and their influence in the village of Rydal.
Having initially gained land in Cumberland, the family’s influence spread to Lancashire and to Westmorland and since early days, the family has been linked to Rydal and has been influential across the whole of Cumbria.
